What was hidden here?

Ted was on the right track with his comments about the mantid-like head. It is in fact a mantid of some type. Here’s a close crop from the image above.

It's a mantid

Subjects: Insects and Mantids.
Places: Brazil, Minas Gerais, South America, and Tupaciguara.
Adaptations: Crypsis.
Taxa: Class Insecta and Order Mantodea.
Colors: Green.

  1. Amazing how the forelegs are completely hidden from view – that would’ve given it way.

    I’m still wondering about that other insect (apparently a moth).
